Christians, Guess What? Words Really Do Matter!

This week, Rich and Chris tip a sacred cow of evangelism by asking should we say “accept Jesus into your heart” or “receive Christ as Lord and Savior.” Is there a difference? Does it matter how closely we align with biblical terminology? Or are we just nitpicking at words?

    Thank you for speaking truth to a generation that has lost their appreciation for using language properly. Of course, imprecision does allow people to claim credit for being saved, which is a large part of the problem in the first place. We cherish our autonomy, and consequently balk at the idea of God doing it all.
